Check here the update from Day 1 in Cape Town! On Thursday 31 January, 18 of the world’s most formidable big air kiteboarders battled it out on Day One of Red Bull King of the Air 2019, which saw four rounds completed. Heat by heat we saw riders land incredible moves in the epic wind and swell conditions the South Easter delivered. The day, however was not without a few upsets. Crowd favourite and two-time winner of the event, Aaron Hadlow (UK) and SA’s Joshua Emmanuel had to retire due to injury in rounds two and four respectively. With the wind subsiding late in the afternoon event Sportive Director Sergio Cantagalli called an end to Day One with a close eye on the forecasts for the next possible South Easterly wind.
