Neuste Information zu Sebastian Bubmanns Ataraxia Projekt 2012!

The day has come!

Final preparations are done today, and we are heading out tomorrow to Knik Glacier, where our basecamp for Mt. Marcus Baker will be set up!

The tons of gear for 18 days and 6 persons inculde 10 gallons of white fuel, 8kg of cheese, 300 oatmeals and 120 bagles, just to mention a small part of the whole – like 300m of ropes, camera equipment, SAT phone, and much more.
15 kites, speedwings, paragliders, skis, and a lot of mountaineering equipment complement the list.

Being out there on the everlasting ice will be not only a physical challenge but also a mental one. Although it is spring, we still might have to deal with temperatures around -20 °Celcius, or even below. This will be a challenge for the gear and everyone on board – we are happy to have Gavin and Greg supporting us for the whole mission – ensuring Nico being in the right spot for the right shot.

Any help, in case of an emergency will be hours away – given that the weather is good enough to fly.

We are prepared for this challenge! See you in 3 weeks!
