This is Lewis Crathern’s story about the Red Bull King of the Air 2019. “I have committed my life to the RedBull King of the Air event and I know first hand that competing there is not always plain sailing. I know how it feels to stand on the podium and how it feels to just miss out on the finals. I know how it feels to wake up in hospital not even knowing my result and I know how it feels to exit the event early. Typically we do not promote our bad days, but we cannot hide from them. They make us stronger and they make the highs feel so much better. This is an insight to the lows” says Lewis.

Kevin Langeree is the 2019 Red Bull King of the Air Champion

Dutchman defends his title in emphatic fashion Kevin Langeree won a closely-contested three-man final battle at Kite Beach in Cape Town on Wednesday 6 February, to retain his title. This is the Dutchman’s third Red Bull King of the Air win, making him the winningest big air rider on African soil. Langeree outgunned Hawaiian Jesse Richman (2013 Red Bull King of the Air champ) and Liam Whaley (Spain) in 30-knot ‘Cape Doctor’ conditions during the 13-minute final.
