Watch the world’s best park riders in action on and off the water in Cape Hatteras, at last year Triple-S event. Every June a core group of the worlds best park riders return to The Slick at Real Watersports for the Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational. With $50,000 on the line, the competition is fierce, pushing the boundaries of what is possible behind a kite. 2017 brought fresh faces and never before seen tricks in what shaped up to be the best Triple-S yet. With a huge musical lineup, the action was non-stop on and off the water. Wind Voyager had the opportunity to film the athletes both in and out of the park at iconic kite spots like the Rodanthe Pier, Buxton Slicks and more. With a full tilt production crew and the willingness of the riders to showcase their free ride skills, we were able to capture the beauty of Cape Hatteras as well as some unique angles in kiteboarding. The Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational took place June 3rd-9th on Cape Hatteras, in the REAL Slick. 30 riders from 15 different countries traveled to North Carolina to test and show their skills at the famous kite park. The 2017 Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational results are in: Ewan Jaspan and Colleen Carroll are the big winners! The Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational took place June 3rd-9th, 2017 on Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, in the REAL Slick. 30 riders from 15 different countries traveled to The Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational to test their skills on the KOA Resorts Kicker, Core Super Kicker, North A-Frame, Liquid Force Reverse Rainbow and the John Wayne 82ft Mega Rail. The Man and Woman to claim first place have their names etched on the Perpetual Trophy and have earned their place in kiteboarding history. With $50,000 on the line, the stakes are high and riders were eager to show what they’ve got. Over the course of the week Cape Hatteras received a myriad of conditions. We started the competition on the first day of the waiting period on Sunday, June 4th and finished the following day, Monday, June 5th, with perfect southwest wind and optimal conditions to compete. Once the heats had been completed, we had a day of excellent surf, then a change in wind direction favored the Oceanside for some freeride action around the island. She shares what style of hits are most common on this feature vs. the CORE Kiteboarding Super Kicker. Once we’ve talked about the hits Colleen shares what it is like being on the water and sharing the session with the Women’s field. Although the competition is fierce these women are all friends, pushing each other to ride their best and help each other when they are down. With day 1 one of the Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational done, here is the Post Show Episode 1. In this episode, the hosts share the highlights of the day and invite special guests behind the desk. The riders are constantly pushing the limits in the REAL Slick with Kelsick, Jaspan & Scheid throwing back to back to back 720’s being a standout battle. The Women’s field has never been more competitive with style and amplitude at an all time high. Alex Maes, Pierre Vogel and Isabel von Zastrow will be competing against the world’s wakestyle elite in the 2017 Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational, that will be held from June 3rd-9th in Cape Hatteras. Since 2008, kiteboarders from all over the planet have assembled their best footage to submit for the Wind Voyager Triple-S Wildcard Video Contest. Each year, the best wakestyle riders scour their hard drives for the “A+” clips, then hit the water and session their brains out to stack a few last-minute tricks into the edit. Standout riders from kite spots all over the world hold nothing back, showcasing their talent on a wide variety of kicker and slider features. The results are nothing short of mind-blowing, an incredible snapshot of the wakestyle kiteboarding scene.
