“It feels good to be home.” I always say that when I get the chance to hang out on Oahu for more than 2 weeks in the row. It is my favorite place to be, my friends are here and I get to hang out and ride waves with them everyday. It doesn’t mater which season, every-time I’m back the conditions are good, in the winter the big swell action is in “the Country” on the famous North Shore, and in the Summer anywhere in “Town” and on the South Shore there are waves to ride.

For most surfers here the “Summer” usually starts around April, when the first serious south swells starts rolling in. This first part of the season has been excellent for windsurfing this year, with strong trade winds colliding with a constant supply of sweet south swells. It has been pure fun, and we have been taking full advantage of it.

I’ve been working with my friend, photographer, Francis Brewer. He is a good windsurfer and he loves to swim out with his camera when the waves are of serious size. He knows what he is doing out there, and combined with an intimate knowledge of his home spots makes for excellent photos.

These are some of the photos from our recent shoots, to see more of Francis‘ work, check out his website at: http://www.waterproofsphotography.com

Oahu is a great photo studio for windsurfing or any kind of wave riding activities, there are a lot of spots with different conditions, and a lot of ways to shoot those waves.

It is also to nice to be home to catch up on some video editing. I just put together this segment, it talks about the new quiver of boards that I just received here on Oahu, and it showcases some beautiful waves around the globe: at home on Oahu, and also on Reunion Island and a new sick spot in the Philippines.
