Solaire Blue Open 2017 – The Men’s Final Showdown

The conditions for the Men’s Final of the Solaire Blue Palawan Open could not have been any better. Sunshine, flat waters and a consistent 20+knts of wind that built throughout the day, it was the ideal amphitheatre for the spectators who had flocked to Blue to watch the showdown commence. 9 riders took turns to hit the the Solaire kicker, It’s More Fun In The Philippines roof top and North Kiteboarding fun Box, taking their single best score out of three hits on each feature to the points board. It was show-stopping stuff with each rider a prime contender for the podium. With the green and white flags up, it was time to put everything on the line, and everyone did! Heading up the videography team was Tom Court, working closely with Vincent Bergon. With such challenging conditions for capturing aerial footage, it was inevitable that the drone would eventually end up in the drink. Thankfully rice in the Philippines is everywhere and it dried out swiftly, making a full recovery. We’ll be catching up with the official judges for an breakdown later on and to hear more about who did what. Stay tuned!
