Triple-S Invitational – The Epic Run

Wind Voyager Triple-S Event organizers announce the end of an epic run. Read Real Watersports’ Press bellow: The World is Not Ready… Photo: Toby Bromwich Over the past fourteen years, the Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational has changed the way we think about kiteboarding and kiteboarding events. Photo: Brian Caserio In 2006, the #WindVoyagerTripleS was the first ever, slider and kicker kiteboarding event. In that year, and in many to follow, the Triple-S crowned champions in surf, slicks and sliders, as well as overall, to define the cutting edge of our sport. There was no prize money. The trophies got left behind. The event was judged by the riders themselves. There were parties in the backyard at “The Slick House”, as well as after hour ragers we really shouldn’t talk about on the internet. Strapless kitesurfing, kite low powered wakestyle and park riding. The Triple-S put these new riding disciplines on the map. Photo: Toby Bromwich Starting in 2012, the Triple-S switched to using judges to score the event and introduced prize money. After achieving our goals of changing the direction of kiteboarding competitions, with many following worldwide, our next goal was to provide substantial prize money. Thanks to the generous …

Air Games Germany 2018 – Day Two

After a full afternoon of Kiteboarding World Tour ‘Air Games’ action on the first day, Saturday was scheduled for a start to the women’s competition. An initial start was made just after lunch as a storm front brought more wind, but before the end of heat two, the competition was abandoned with heats cancelled, however that wasn’t the end of the action. Focus instead switched to the second event – the daily Mercedes Benz Kicker Competition – which comes into action in the event of no wind or at the end of the day at beer o’clock. With good prize money up for grabs, the riders are even more keen to put on some entertainment for the big crowds here in Fehmarn. Finishing 3rd in the single elimination main event yesterday, Swiss shredder Maxime Chabloz gained top spot on the kicker today with a frontside 540 behind the ski. Crowned where? In the hot-tub in the Mercedes pick-up truck of course! The kicker comp is purely a fun extension of this event, it doesn’t count towards the World Championship. Here’s a slice of the afternoon antics. Skipper’s meeting is 8am tomorrow with a first possible start for the women at …

We made it through all of the men’s first heats on the Liquid Force Kites Reverse Rainbow and Wind Voyager Super Kicker.
