Das erste Young Guns Team steht!
Aus zahlreichen Bewerbern wurden acht junge Kite Landboarding Talente zwischen 11 und 18 Jahren von Sponsoren in Zusammenarbeit mit der KLB Association ausgesucht.
Von 06.04. von 09.04.2012 startete unser erstes Trainingscamp in Dornumersiel. Es konnten sieben Kitelandboarder dabei sein. Diese wurden von den kitejunkie.com Teamridern Emmanuel Norman und Christian Hafner (KLBA) trainiert. Neben Freestyle- und Racetraining standen auch Fitnesstraining am Programm. Außerdem gab es jede Menge Tipps, was man als Teamfahrer für Aufgaben hat und wie man diese am besten erfüllt. Maik Schmidt unterstütze nicht nur das Training sondern schoss atemberaubende Fotos – Danke Maik! Einer der Highlights war bestimmt die nächtliche Fotosession, die den Ridern alles abverlangte. Seid gespannt, es gibt dazu noch einiges zu sehen.
Bei einem Funrace und einem Freestylecontest konnten die Rider Ihr Können beweisen. Die Fahrer haben sich dabei selbst bewertet und dabei auch ein Gespür für Schwierigkeitsgrad und Style entwickelt. Am Sonntag gab sich sogar der amtierende deutsche Meister im Race, Nick Stimpel, die Ehre, und ließ es sich nicht nehmen die Young Guns zu fordern.
Die Verpflegung und Campbetreuung haben Gabi und Andy Schattner von der KLBA übernommen und die Young Guns verwöhnt.
Alles in allem ein perfektes Camp. Auf diesem Wege ein Dank an Micha und alle weiteren Sponsoren, die dieses tolle erste Event ermöglicht haben.

Portuguese Kitesurf Championship 2012

For the 9th consecutive year APKite will lead the Portuguese Kitesurf Championship to the Portuguese beaches in three disciplines: race, freestyle and waves.
This year, five stages mark the national competition in Portugal. The tour will visit 5 beaches from North to South, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Lagos, Costa da Caparica and Nazaré. As in previous years, in 2012 APKite maintained its aim to co-organize events with the help of local associations, clubs, schools or individuals.
Ensure continuity of competition in wave discipline was one of the goals of APKite, that in 2010 “revived” the will and motivation to carry out official compettion in this discipline, with the implementation of National Kite Cup, held in Guincho. It is therefore with great satisfaction that in 2012, two organizations reinforce this commitment, allowing the realization of two stages of PKC Wave. Racing (the fastest growing discipline in terms of registrations) will be played in a National Championship with four stages. The discussion of the title in Freestyle is back this year will visit Aveiro, Costa da Caparica and Lagos.
The Champions of 2011 will strive to maintain the leading position in the rankings and is expected great atending by the national riders and the introdution of new faces in the national competitive universe.

Colin Sifferlen hatte das Vergnügen, vor Neukaledonien in glasklarem Wasser nahezu klinische Bedingungen zu surfen – bestes Waveriding mit paradiesischen Down-the-Line Verhältnissen – genialer Clip!
Colin Sifferlen ist übrigens der Freestyle Szene entsprungen, war auch schon mal “King of the Lake” am Gardasee und hat dann leider irgendwann den Anschluss im Worldcup verpasst, was aber seiner Performance nicht anzusehen ist, und wie man hier sieht, versteht er sich auch aufs Waveriding.
Zu Neukaledonien – eine zu Frankreich gehörende Inselgruppe im südlichen Pazifik, östlich von Australien und nördlich von Neuseeland. Die Inselgruppe ist auch als “Kanaky” bekannt. Die Welle in diesem Video ist eine Linkswelle und ist zu finden in der Bucht von Dumbéa, im Süden der Hauptinsel.

Cauipe lagoon is a great place to practice freestyle. Everytime we go there we get stocked with the level of the local. This video shows the first time that this kid used boots.
