Das Wetter ist traumhaft. Immer noch jeden Tag Wind und Sonne pur…
Gestern bin ich am Morgen zu den Kielern Anne mit Familie gelaufen und habe mich dort erfrischt. Sie haben ein schönes Apartment mit Blick auf die Cabezo-Bucht. 2 Wochen wollen sie auch die schöne Zeit genießen.
Gegen Mittag bin ich dann aufs Wasser gegangen. Es waren super Bedingungen! Gleichmäßiger Wind und schöne Wellen. Ich hatten eine Ecke ganz für mich allein, das war traumhaft.
Heute war der Himmel dann teilweise bedeckt, es war aber schön warm dabei. Wenn ich an die Temperaturen in Deutschland denke…. Ich möchte nicht tauschen! Auf dem Wasser war ich auch, es war aber nicht besonders gut. Mein 11er reichte gerade aus. Die nächsten Tage soll es dann aber wieder richtig blasen!
Am Surfcenter wurden dann noch Filmaufnahmen gemacht. Keine Ahnung wofür.

Punta Cana Kite Fest had just come to an end. It was an awesome week of fun with the first ever slider/kicjer contest. Dominican Republic is undoubtedly an awesome place to ride and the local crew was extremely welcoming. Just have a look at the video.

KB4Girls 2012 season calendar

On the heels of their successful 2010 and 2011 worldwide clinic tours the KB4girls foundation releases their global dates for their 3rd inaugural season.
Targeting girls and women all over the world the 2012 KB4girls GLOBAL events will visit almost every continent and include events in Sydney/Australia, Pranburi/Thailand, San Francisco/USA, El Gouna/Egypt, Lancing/Great Britain and New York/USA.
Structured as training and learning events for female kiteboarders of all levels the KB4girls GLOBAL events are made to empower girls and women through the sport of kiteboarding as well as the female only environment.
The KB4girls GLOBAL events are Charity events at the same time as they are instructional events for female kiteboarders of all levels. While each of the event will be free for the participating girls and women the participants are require to set up personal fundraising pages and raise funds for a local charity that is identified for each individual event.
Some of the amazing partnerships that were formed in 2011 will be continued into this year and will see collaborations with the KTA (Kite Tour Asia) in their event in Pranburi/Thailand as well as with the BKSA (British Kite Surfing Association) during the event in Lancing/Great Britain.
After releasing the KB4girls CHAPTER program in November 2011 the foundation has sanctioned its first 13 events and with each of these chapters holding a female event of some sort on a monthly basis the KB4girls CHAPTER events will be adding to the list of KB4girls event from now on. A total of 30 KB4girls CHAPTER events have already been announced to date and many more are to come, making it possible to support many more females through the program.
Sports model and 9x world champion, Kristin Boese, founder of KB4girls says: “Due to the amazing support of our female ambassadors all over the world we were once again able to put together an incredible calendar and visit female kiters all over the world. I am really looking forward to each individual KB4girls GLOBAL event.”
She added: ”I also super excited about the incredible work of our first accredited chapters that have already announced a mind-blowing number of KB4girls CHAPTER events. I am so looking forward to seeing the chapter program unfold further and feel blessed to be able to work with such amazing women as our chapter ambassadors. “

Snowkite Europameisterschaft 2012: Der Reschensee in russischer Hand

Auf dem Reschensee in Südtirol gab es am vergangenen Wochenende die fünfte Rollei Bullet HD Snowkite Europameisterschaft zu bestaunen. Nachdem es zwei Tage zuvor geschneit hatte, zeigte sich der Finaltag wettertechnisch von seiner besten Seite – Sonnenschein und genügend Wind, um die Athleten über den zugefrorenen See schweben zu lassen.
Der erst 17 Jahre alte Russe Artem Garaschenko konnte sich in der Single Elimination bei den Freestyle-Snowboardern an die Spitze setzen. Mit viel Power und Selbstvertrauen landete er mit seinem tiefgeflogenen Schirm vor Heiner Brandstetter (AUT) und Jan Schiegnitz (GER).
Auch bei den Skifahrern spielte Mütterchen Russland am Sonntag Victoria und verhalf dabei Anton Uzhegov zum Sieg vor Marian Hund (GER) und Daniel Schur (AUT). Uzhegov kämpfte sich vom letzten Platz nach vorne und schüttelte Tricks wie Double S-Blend to Blind, Kiteloop to blind und 313’s aus dem Ärmel. Marian Hund konterte zwar mit hohen Airs und lässigen Hooked Combinations, konnte aber am Ende keine echte Paroli bieten.
Um den Hattrick komplett zu machen, gewann bei den Freestyle-Snowboard-Damen die Russin Tatjana Sysoeva vor ihrer Landsfrau Christine Bönninger und Anne Valvatne aus Norwegen.
Ach ja, fast vergessen – auch in der Race Kategorie der Skifahrer gewann ein junger russischer Mann mit dem Namen Andrei Balyakin vor Vorjahressieger Markus Pompl und Florian Gruber.
Bei den Snowboardern hingegen setzte sich der deutsche Benjamin Nähter an die Spitze des Feldes und sorgte so für eine mittelschwere Sensation bei seiner ersten Snowkite Championship und gewann damit den Europameister- als auch den Titel des deutschen Meisters vor Aliaksei Pimchanka und Jörg Lammerskitten.
